Description
This 6 ingredient Garlic Marinara Sauce has all the right ingredients to make a quick and healthy sauce for any topping you choose to put it on.
Ingredients

- 2 (28 ounce) cans whole tomatoes with juice
- 1/2 cup fresh basil
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup minced garlic
- 1/4 cup shallots
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 Tablespoon butter [optional]
Instructions
- Saute shallot + garlic in olive oil in large stock pot. Saute for 4-5 min until fragrant.
- Add whole tomatoes with juice + fresh herbs + salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 25 min.
- Add butter, if using, and blend with immersion blender or regular blender until the desired consistency is reached.
Notes
* Serve over whole wheat pasta or cooked Spaghetti Squash.
