Description

This 6 ingredient Garlic Marinara Sauce has all the right ingredients to make a quick and healthy sauce for any topping you choose to put it on. 


Ingredients

  • 2 (28 ounce) cans whole tomatoes with juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup shallots
  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon butter [optional]

Instructions

  1. Saute shallot + garlic in olive oil in large stock pot. Saute for 4-5 min until fragrant.
  2. Add whole tomatoes with juice + fresh herbs + salt and pepper.
  3. Simmer for 25 min. 
  4. Add butter, if using, and blend with immersion blender or regular blender until the desired consistency is reached.

Notes

* Serve over whole wheat pasta or cooked Spaghetti Squash.
