This bagel shop is worthy of visiting WEEKLY-

Our first 4th of July in the city was 6 ish years ago and it happened to be so hot. Hotter than I had ever been. I was just pregnant enough to be uncomfortable and just pregnant enough not get the pity for being pregnant! Tricky spot to be in.

Most people leave the city during the 4th of July (mostly because it is so dang hot!) so there is not much going on. We did have some friends who host a scooter parade in the Morningside Heights area so we travelled up there for a festive event.

It was fun! The kids had a little scooter parade around a few blocks and then there was a firetruck at the end and everyone had a good time. Since we were up in the 100’s that day, on the way home we stopped by the infamous ABSOLUTE BAGELS. And let me tell you, it was a place that we have since made a must to every event from Thanksgiving Day parade, to first day of school, to “mom’s coming to visit lets go get bagels”, to “oh great, were up early, lets go get bagels”.

One very important item of business to note however, is they only accept cash. Don’t forget. Because I do EVERY other time. Hence, we have been up to Absolute bagels, waited in the line and THEN and only THEN do I remember they don’t accept card. Eye roll for me.

Not only do they have fantastic bagels…but they have very nice ladies. The picture below is from before we fled due to Covid 19. Jude was a waitor this particular day and he wanted to take her order. He asked me how to spell bagel earlier in the day and I said, “how do you think?” His reply, “B-A-G-O”. hahaha of course. bago.
